Biography:

As a Virginia native, Dr. Melissa Bowers received a medical degree from the University of Virginia in 2008. She went on to complete post graduate residencies at both Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia and Memorial Health in Georgia. Dr. Bowers spent several years practicing family medicine in the Lowcountry before joining Coastal Plains Primary Care. She hopes to grow her practice and provide skillful and compassionate healthcare to patients of all ages. "I have always wanted a career where I would be helping people in a rural community, and Coastal Plains Primary Care seemed like a wonderful opportunity and a good fit for me," said Dr. Bowers.
