Bosom Buddies Donate to HRMC Mammography Program
VARNVILLE, S.C. (November 18, 2019) - Recently, members of Bosom Buddies of Hampton County presented a donation in the amount of $500 to the Hampton Regional Medical Center (HRMC) mammography program.
Founded in the early 2000s, Bosom Buddies is a local support group that provides help, hope, and friendship to breast cancer patients and survivors. The group strives to increase breast cancer awareness by participating in various community events, including Relay for Life. "We chose to donate to the mammography department because of Hampton Regional's generosity in providing a monthly meeting space and lunch for our group," said Lillie May Walker, Chairwoman, Bosom Buddies.
HRMC remains committed to the fight against breast cancer by combining highly trained, certified staff with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to identify breast cancer early and accurately.
"We are extremely grateful for the generous contribution to our program; mammograms are the single most effective way to diagnose breast cancer and treat it early, so women have the best chance for recovery," said Candace Pulaski, RT(R)(M)(CT). Pulaski has been a registered radiologic technologist for ten years and holds certifications in mammography and computed tomography. "HRMC is appreciative of the Bosom Buddies' support, as we are dedicated to providing advanced, comprehensive imaging services to our patients," she added.
Bosom Buddies' monthly support group meetings are held at Hampton Regional Medical Center on the second Wednesday of each month.
